About

I've loved plushies my whole life. They were my preferred company as a child - they are quiet, non-judgemental, and provide a positive sensory experience. They are also adorably unique and charming, and the personalities I crafted for them helped me build a kinder world to escape to. I took my plushies everywhere to comfort and protect me, on rotating shifts, with my absolute favorite being a bear named Brownie. After nearly two decades of ignoring my very real need for cute, soft things, I started collecting plushies again at 29 years old.

On March 4, 2024, I created cosymoth on a whim and began sharing my plushie family. I was tired of my personal Instagram, which was private (isolated), mostly concert photos (dark and colorless), and didn't feel aligned with the person I was finally embracing. Taking photos of my plushies and sharing them with the incredibly kind community I stumbled upon has brought me endless joy. This lil hobby also provides me with a creative outlet and motivates me to get outside and enjoy nature, write consistently, and connect with others. I started antidepressants and cosymoth around the same time, and I truly believe both things saved my life and allowed me to embark on a new journey of healing.
